First Fridays at VMHC

Description

On the first Friday of each month, the museum will stay open later for this family-friendly event. Between 5:00 pm and 8:00 pm, the museum will offer free admission to the galleries, specials in the Café, access to food trucks, live music, and family-centered activities.

• First Friday of every month from 5:00 pm-8:00 pm
• Free after-hours admission to the museum
• Apollo-themed activities with VMHC Education: crafts, gallery scavenger hunt, face painting
• Crafts: make-your-own paper bag astronaut helmets & rockets
• $2 off wine and beer in the Museum Café, plus specialty mocktails for adults and kids
• Museum Café Specials: Strawberry Lemon Dark Matter (strawberry lemonade, activated charcoal, edible glimmer) and lemon chiffon (new flavor!) and vanilla cheesecakes
• Guest beverage tasting with Everything but the Booze, a group of VCU entrepreneurs: Sample and give feedback on 3 new craft "shock"tails. The audience choice will be featured on the Museum Café May First Friday menu
• Music: Weldon Hill
• Food Trucks: Boka Tako & Hawks BBQ
