Students learn about the history of chocolate in Virginia

As a private, non-profit cultural organization, the Virginia Museum of History & Culture does not receive government operating support. As such, it doesn’t have the same safety net and support system provided to our neighboring museums. We rely on gifts from generous donors like you to underwrite exhibitions, events, and educational programs – especially today we face an unprecedented challenge.

Even while we are closed to the public, we are hard at work preparing for exciting exhibits and programs for when we are on the other side of this crisis. We have also quickly deployed an ever-growing collection of online resources at VirginiaHistory.org/AtHome.

A donation of any amount is appreciated and will help us weather this storm and continue to serve our community and Commonwealth long into the future. Thank you in advance for your generosity!
